About Port St. Lucie Leak Detection

Port St. Lucie Leak Detection is a locally operated leak detection and repair service covering Port St. Lucie and the Treasure Coast — Fort Pierce, Jensen Beach, Stuart, and Palm City. We do one thing: find where pools are losing water, and fix it. Detection and repairs are performed by licensed, insured Florida pool professionals.

Why we only do leaks

Most pool companies treat leak detection as a sideline — a thing the service tech attempts between cleanings, with a dye bottle and a shrug. The results are what you’d expect: “probably the skimmer,” a repair that doesn’t stop the loss, and a callback nobody wants to make.

Leak detection done properly is a diagnostic discipline. It means pressure-isolating every plumbing line at around 20 PSI, listening for underground breaks with acoustic gear, dye-testing the shell fitting by fitting, checking the hydrostatic relief valve that Florida’s high water table makes mandatory, and putting the findings in writing. That’s a full visit with dedicated equipment, not a side errand. Specializing is the only way to do it well — so that’s what we do. You can read the whole method on the pool leak detection page.

The two-fee rule

Everything about how we operate flows from one structural decision: the detection fee and the repair quote are always separate.

The detection visit is a flat fee — $250–$550 for a typical residential pool, quoted before we come out. Once the leak is located, the repair is a separate written quote you approve before anything is cut, dug, or drained. We publish our repair ranges on the pricing page because we think hiding prices is how this industry earned its reputation.

Why it matters: a company that gives away “free leak detection” makes its money on the repair, which means it needs to find a repair. We get paid to find the truth — including when the truth is “your pool isn’t leaking, that’s July evaporation.” Those visits happen, we close them out honestly, and we’d rather lose that repair ticket than your trust.

What we will and won’t tell you

  • We will tell you when the bucket test says you don’t need us. The test is free, takes 24 hours, and is explained step-by-step on our FAQ page. Plenty of Port St. Lucie “leaks” are evaporation plus an autofill valve confusing the picture.
  • We will put findings in writing — what we tested, what we found, what we ruled out. The report is yours; take it to any contractor you like.
  • We won’t guarantee finding every leak in a single visit. Nobody honest can. Pools sometimes have more than one leak, and intermittent leaks that only show under pump pressure occasionally need follow-up testing. When that’s the situation, we say so plainly and tell you what the next step costs before you commit.
  • We won’t invent urgency. Florida pools run year-round and so do we — but if your loss rate is minor and your deck isn’t washing out, we’ll tell you scheduling it next week is fine.

Built for Treasure Coast pools

This area’s pools have a specific profile: gunite shells, screened lanais, salt chlorination, autofill valves, sandy soil, and a water table close enough to the surface that draining a pool carelessly can float it. Our process is built around exactly that — we find leaks with the pool full, we work clean inside pool cages, and we check the Florida-specific failure points (hydrostatic valves, skimmer throats on 2000s-boom pools, settled plumbing in sandy fill) that generic advice skips. If your problem turns out to be an underground line, the plumbing leak repair page explains how we fix it without tearing up half your deck.

Get a straight answer

Tell us what you’re seeing — how much water you’re losing per week, whether the bill jumped, bubbles at the returns, wet ground near the equipment pad — and we’ll tell you honestly whether a detection visit is worth booking. The flat fee is quoted up front, and everything after that is your call.
